THE Zambia Pool Union (ZPU) national league will get underway on May 4.
ZPU general secretary Victor Musonda said in a statement issued in Lusaka yesterday that the season will start with a Charity Shield, which will be held on April 27.
Musonda named University Teaching Hospital, Boree, Sharks, Kornala, Obama Nest, State House, Red Arrows and University of Zambia as clubs that will compete in the Charity Shield.
He said the venue for the tournament will be announced soon.
Musonda called on all clubs to pay subscription fees by April 20.
He also said ZPU president Tom Michelo will next Saturday officiate at the Central Province Pool Association (CEPPA) annual general meeting in Kabwe.
Meanwhile, ZPU has reappointed Ken Mwape as technical director.
Musonda said Mwape will also double as national team coach.
He said Mwape’s assistant will be named soon.
