THE popular Muvi Tv reality show Ready for Marriage Amplified hit the screens as the 14 contestants were unveiled during the official launch at Lusaka’s Golden Bridge Hotel last Saturday.
The contestants are James Jonathan Mwanza, Patricia Silunga, Towela Mvula, Chibesa Kolala, Cecilia Tembo, Kilonge Nginga and Kerry Jere.
Others are Barbara Mwelwa, Joseph Nkhoma, Violet Mwale, Kondwani Ngwalangwa, Chiwila Kalande, Davies Kanjengo and Loveness Simasiku.
This amplified version of Ready for Marriage, first started and popularised by the late Augustine Lungu, is featuring brides and grooms-to-be who have been in a relationship for at least a year.
The participants are drawn from different backgrounds, but all are over the age of 21. The Amplified concept of this show is that the competing couples will exhibit the best principles, values, lifestyles, answers, dressing, behaviour, perspectives, knowledge and skills that will convince the voting viewers that they are the most Ready for Marriage couple.
Viewers will vote by text messages using the 2477 short code. The competition will be for wedding sponsorship prizes and other consolation prizes.
The first prize is KR100,000 wedding sponsorship while the second is KR50,000 worth with the other couples getting custom-packaged consolation prizes.
During the programme, education, motivation and counselling will be carried out among the contestants.
The least-voted contestant will get eliminated from the show. Elimination will be officially announced and carried out on the weekly elimination day. Even after elimination, the couples will still remain in the background programme to complete the packages of training, counselling and motivation. On the Grand Finale show, the eliminated couples will be awarded their elimination packages.
The Amplified show will be broadcast on Muvi TV’s terrestrial and satellite channels as well as on Africa Unite TV channel.
