MINISTER of Health Sylvia Masebo says four people have so far died from anthrax, which has now spread to Lusaka, where 13 human cases have been confirmed.
The cases in Lusaka have been confirmed in Kanyama (five), Matero (six), Chelston (one) and Chilenje (one).Countrywide, 335 cases have been reported in humans with one of the dead being a 12-yearold boy in Mpika.
Ms Masebo said during a press briefing in Lusaka yesterday that majority of the cases are in Southern Province, where they stand at 269, including two deaths in Sinazongwe. The other death has been recorded in Lumezi, Eastern Province.
