PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema says it is unacceptable to have a shortage of food when humanity has improved its technological capabilities.
And the President has called for joint-venture investments stating that Zambia has changed the thrust on investment.
Speaking when he met Turkish Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmet Yildiz at State House yesterday, President Hichilema said it is unfortunate that the world could be faced with a shortage of food in the midst of improved technology.
“It is unfortunate and not acceptable today that we can have shortage of food for our populations in Zambia, in Africa and the rest of the world when humanity has improved,” he said. “Increased technological capabilities, irrigation capabilities, mechanisation, why should we run out of food?
