COACH Avram Grant says the Chipolopolo need to improve despite overcoming Congo-Brazzaville 4-2 in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match.
Speaking on Friday night at a post-match briefing at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola, Grant observed the defence needs attention.
He said since he took over last December, Zambia conceded once in a competitive match before allowing two goals against Congo-Brazzaville.
“It was a good performance but there are some things we need to improve. Until now the team defence has played very well. I think we conceded only one goal against Lesotho that was also a mistake of the goalkeeper [Toaster Nsabata],” Grant said.
