ZAMBIA’S informal trade value has significantly improved over the past three years, with imports hitting US$77.2 million in 2021 from US$13.3 million recorded in 2019.
The value of exports also increased to US$206.08 million in 2021 from US$81.02 million registered in 2019.
Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry Permanent Secretary Lillian Bwalya said this trend has also continued in 2023, and the figures are projected to increase further with continued reforms being undertaken.
