FINANCIAL Intelligence Centre (FIC) director of compliance and prevention Diphat Tembo says the increase in casino and sports betting businesses requires a strong regulatory and monitoring framework to avoid the platforms being used as channels of money laundering and illicit financial flows.
Mr Tembo said there is need to strengthen the weak laws and tighten supervision procedures for businesses that may pose threats to the stability of the country’s financial stability.
