ABOUT 10 kilometres of selected township roads in Solwezi will be upgraded to bituminous standard this year.
Speaking during the second ordinary council meeting, Solwezi Mayor Remmy Kalepa said the council will also spend over K1 million to repair damaged street lights on Independence Avenue because of accidents, especially those involving motorbikes.
Mr Kalepa said the township roads to be worked on this year will be funded by the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development.
“I am pleased to announce that through the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, a total of 10 kilometres will be tarred in the year 2024,” he said. “This will highly contribute to giving Solwezi a facelift it deserves in terms of township roads…https://enews.daily-mail.co.zm/welcome/home
