ABOUT 10 kilometres of selected township roads in Solwezi will be upgraded to bituminous standard this year.
Speaking during the second ordinary council meeting, Solwezi Mayor Remmy Kalepa said the council will also spend over K1 million to repair damaged street lights on Independence Avenue because of accidents, especially those involving motorbikes.
Mr Kalepa said the township roads to be worked on this year will be funded by the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development.
