INTERNATIONAL Press Institute (IPI) has implored Government to ensure adequate structures and resources are in place for enforcement of the Access to Information (ATI) law.
The legislation was assented to by President Hakainde Hichilema in December last year.
Zambia joins other countries in southern Africa like Zimbabwe and South Africa which have had the ATI law for years.
The institute says Government should undertake awareness on the new legislation targeting citizens, public officials and appointment of information officers who will be responsible for handling requests for data.
IPI Africa advocacy and partnership lead Nompilo Simanje said this in a statement yesterday..https://enews.daily-mail.co.zm/welcome/home
