MINISTER of Community Development and Social Services Doreen Mwamba says people should bath regularly, clean their houses and properly dispose of waste to curtail cholera, among other diseases.
Ms Mwamba, who wants women to take the lead in promoting good hygiene, regrets that people in certain townships, especially in Lusaka, defecate in plastics and indiscriminately dump the waste.
She said the faecal matter indiscriminately thrown ends up as conduit for cholera and other waterborne diseases.
The minister also emphasised the need for citizens to use toilets to answer the call of nature to avert the outbreak of diseases.
