ZAMBIA 21 DRC 40
ZAMBIA yesterday started the campaign at the African Men’s Handball Championship with defeat to Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) at Cairo Stadium.
DRC led Zambia 20-8 at half-time in this Group A match.
The Congolese went on to score 20 goals in the second half against Zambia’s 13 for the match to end 40-21.
Zambia coach Tonni Stentoft was not impressed with the result.
Stentoft , however, said not all hope is lost as they have picked lessons ahead of the remaining two games.
The team will face Cape Verde tomorrow.
“I think a loss in your first game is never an easy thing to take because we wanted to start on a high. But I think not all hope is lost. We still have two more games to play and we will fight hard for the points. This game is gone, we now look to our next game against Cape Verde,” Stentoft said..
