UNDER-17 women team striker Eunice Mutonyi is targeting shaking the net as many times as possible in the 2024 FIFA World Cup qualifying race in a bid to guide Zambia to the global showpiece.
Mutonyi also wants to finish as top scorer in the qualifiers.
Mutonyi is one of the 34 players that coach Carol Kanyemba has selected for the second round clash against Tanzania.
Zambia host the East Africans on February 3 with the return leg after a week in Dar es Salaam.
The winners will face either Cameroon or Uganda in the third round.
Three African teams will qualify for the 2024 FIFA Under-17 World Cup to be hosted by the Dominican Republic.
“Training is really stiff and everyone is fighting for a spot in the final squad. My personal goal is to help the team score many goals during these qualifiers to progress to the next stage.
I also want to finish as top scorer,” Mutonyi said in an interview yesterday.
And coach Kanyemba is impressed with the players’ input.
“The work that players are putting in is impressive and morale in camp is very high. I’m confident of a good result as we have worked on all the things we planned to do,” she said..https://enews.daily-mail.co.zm/welcome/home
