RURAL Electrification Authority (REA) is this year set to implement over 140 projects countrywide following approval of the institution’s 2024 budget by the board.
And the authority is sourcing for US$10 million to provide subsidised electricity connections to about 40, 000 households under phase two of the project.
REA chief executive officer Linus Chanda said the 141 projects to be implemented this year are a combination of grid extension, renewable energy, solar home systems, biogas for schools and one wind power plant.
