GOVERNMENT says it is pushing for as many direct flights into Zambia as a strategy of boosting tourism.
Minister of Tourism Rodney Sikumba says in terms of connectivity, most airlines, from the COVID-19 days, stopped flying into Zambia and have not resumed flights even after the novel virus died down.
In an interview, Mr Sikumba, however, hailed Minister of Transport and Logistics Frank Tayali for managing to bring in a number of airlines into the country.
“Right now, we have five or six international airlines – longhaul flights – which are coming here.
“The tourists of today have become extremely sophisticated; they don’t want to be hopping from one airport to the other,” Mr Sikumba said.
“They just want to leave their home to the airport and then they are at their destination. So that is what we are trying to work on.”…https://enews.daily-mail.co.zm/
