TO ENHANCE entrepreneurship, over K3.2 million has been disbursed to 51 applicants of Constituency Development Fund (CDF) empowerment grants in Lusaka’s Matero.
Matero Member of Parliament Miles Sampa and Lusaka District Commissioner Rosa Zulu handed over a cheque of K3,227,495.00 to beneficiaries at Chitukuko Skills Centre yesterday.
Mr Sampa said CDF beneficiaries should endeavour to diversify their businesses and not confine to one investment.
He urged recipients to use the money for the intended purpose to make profit and not use the capital for unprofitable ventures.
Mr Sampa hailed the New Dawn administration for the timely release of CDF resources and called on people to take advantage of the initiative to create sustainable enterprises.
“CDF is one of the best performances of the UPND government,” he said
“As long as you are Zambian, apply, there are no politics in CDF.”
And Ms Zulu said CDF is being distributed equally to all areas to ensure no community is denied development.
She, however, regrets that some beneficiaries do not showcase benefits of CDF and encourage their colleagues to apply for funding.
“You (beneficiaries) who get loans don’t talk about it, so people think CDF is not real,” Ms Zulu said…https://enews.daily-mail.co.zm/welcome/home
