A FATHER and daughter of Kalulushi, who survived an inferno at their house that killed the mother last Thursday, have both died after succumbing to the injuries sustained in the incident.
The mother has been identified as Maureen Lupiya, her husband Kafula Mulenga and daughter Bertha Kasongo, who were all sleeping when the house caught fire in unclear circumstances.
According to Copperbelt Province police commanding officer Peacewell Mweemba, Mulenga was a chainsaw operator who kept petrol in the house which is suspected to have caused the fire.
While the mother died on the actual day following the burns she sustained, the husband and daughter were rushed to Kitwe Teaching Hospital (KTH) in the early hours of Friday after being referred from Kalulushi General Hospital.
“We received the victims around 01:00 hours on Friday after they were referred from Kalulushi General Hospital for the burns they sustained,” KTH senior medical superintendent Seke Kazuma said in an interview…https://enews.daily-mail.co.zm/welcome/home
