OVER 63,000 low-income households and some public facilities in eight townships of Lusaka will be subsidised and connected to reliable and safe electricity supply following the European Union (EU)’s €7 million (K205 million) grant to Zesco Limited’s Lusaka Transmission Distribution Rehabilitation Project (LTDRP).
During the signing of the agreement with Zesco Limited yesterday, EU Zambia head of infrastructure Massimo Bonannini said the bloc committed to work with Government to improve livelihoods by supporting access to clean, reliable and affordable electricity services for all.
“The direct grant to Zesco is for the implementation of 63,000 individual electricity connections to households, public and social facilities and eligible micro and small enterprises in pre-selected highdensity low-income areas of Lusaka,” he said…https://enews.daily-mail.co.zm/welcome/home
