FORMER High Commissioner to Australia Frank Bwalya says he has joined the ruling United Party for National Development (UPND) to work.
Mr Bwalya, along with three others, were unveiled as UPND members at the opening of the party secretariat named after founding leader Anderson Kambela Mazoka.
Others who joined alongside
the former Catholic priest are Christian Democratic Party (CDP) deputy secretary general in charge of media Cosmas Chileshe, Patrick Samwimbila from Patriotic Front (PF), and Jairos Zulu from MMD.President Hakainde Hichilema said membership recruitment is ideal for the ruling party.
“So we welcome you,” he said.
Lusaka Province UPND chairman Obvious Mwaliteta welcomed the quartet to the party.
“Colleagues, where you have come there is unity and peace,” he said. “Father Bwalya, we talked when you were abroad. We were talking. You are welcome, colleagues.”
Mr Bwalya, who joined the Socialist Party after his recall from Australia, said he is happy to join the UPND.
“I’m very happy to meet the President in person after a long time [and] to see that golden smile,” he said.
“When he tapped me on my shoulder when he was going round the offices, I knew everything was fine. I’m here to work and not to talk, unless talking will be my job.”..https://enews.daily-mail.co.zm/welcome/home
