GOVERNMENT, with support from the World Bank, has secured US$170 million for implementation of phase two of the Zambia Agri Business Trade Project (ZATP).
ZATP supports poor and emerging farmers to the greatest extent possible to ensure they graduate from their current levels of production into flourishing agriculture ventures across all value chains.
And the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry has awarded a grant of 49 improved breed dairy animals worth about K1.9 million to Malinka Multipurpose Cooperative Society in Mbabala constituency in Choma district to enhance milk production from 5,000 to 23,000 litres per month.
Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry Permanent Secretary in charge of investment and industrialisation John Mulongoti said ZATP will help to identify business opportunities in different parts of the country.
Mr Mulongoti said Government has a running US$40 million phase one ZATP which will end soon.
