RURAL Electrification Authority (REA) will this year spend over K590 million to electrify about 29,000 households and various facilities around the country.
At a first quarter media briefing to share this year’s work plan yesterday, REA chief executive officer Linus Chanda said Government has pledged to achieve universal access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all Zambians by 2030.
REA wants to implement ongrid and off-grid electrification solutions for rural areas by exploiting all available renewable energy technologies like solar, wind, biogas, hydro, and any other technologies.
