‘Commander II’ can’t occupy own house

CHOMBA MUSIKA
Lusaka
LUSAKA chief resident magistrate Davies Chibwili has refused to allow businessman Francis Muchemwa, alias Commander II, to occupy one of his seized houses suspected of being proceedings of crime.
Magistrate Chibwili ruled that releasing the house and allowing Muchemwa, who is supposed to open his defence, to occupy it would be premature.
He said while the court has power to release exhibits to those who appear entitled to them, Muchemwa cannot be found to be entitled to the house in issue “as of now”.
This is in a case Muchemwa is accused of possession of property suspected of being proceeds of crime.
He is also accused of illegally receiving K141,400 from Zesco for the alleged trips he undertook, yet never filed an activity report or a retirement imprest upon returning.
Muchemwa was found with a case to answer and placed on his defence last September….https://enews.daily-mail.co.zm/welcome/home
