The number of pupils testing positive for COVID-19 at Kapiri Girls National Technical School has continued to rise since the outbreak of the disease at the institution on Saturday.
As of Wednesday, 54 cumulative cases had been recorded at the learning institution.
Central Province health director Elijah Mutoloki told ZANIS that 200 out of the 600 total pupil population and teaching staff have been screened for the disease at the institution.
Dr Mutoloki explained that this followed cases of coughing and flu among the pupils at the institution last week.
Dr Mutoloki added that all the pupils who have tested positive for COVID-19 have since been quarantined at the school’s sports hall, which has been designated as a COVID-19 isolation centre.
He has described the condition of the affected pupils as stable, adding that most of them were asymptomatic to the disease….https://enews.daily-mail.co.zm/welcome/home
