NKANA yesterday climbed out of the relegation zone for the first time this season after edging bottomplaced Trident at Independence Stadium in Solwezi.
The Kitwe giants scored either side of half-time to grab three points and move to 14th position with 26 points, level with Napsa Stars, who have a better goal aggregate.
Midfielder Jacob Ngulube put the visitors in the lead in the 38th minute and Austin Banda doubled the advantage in the 58th minute in a Super League Week 23 encounter.
It was Banda’s first goal for Nkana having joined from Napsa Stars last month. Peter Musukuma pulled one back five minutes from time but Nkana held on for the victory.Trident have 13 points.
