MINISTER of Green Economy and Environment Collins Nzovu says Zambia has been appointed vice-president of the bureau of the 7th session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-7).
Mr Nzovu said the country went unopposed in elections that took place during the sixth session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA6) that took place from February 26 to March 1, 2024 at the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya.
UNEA, the governing council of UNEP is the largest decision-making body on global environmental policies and laws and enjoys universal membership of all the 193 UN member states.
