MINISTER of Finance Situmbeko Musokotwane urges banks to initiate affordable financing with flexible payment options for people to access equipment for alternative energy such as solar.
Dr Musokotwane said financial change should begin with the banks and this will make it easy for people to access equipment for solar energy.
He singled out Stanbic Bank as one financial institution that offers a loan facility to enable people to get affordable loans to invest in solar equipment like panels, inverters and batteries.
He said banks and other financial institutions should offer loans with a flexible repayment plan to allow people to buy solar panels amid power outages.
He said Government is in touch with a number of financial institutions to see to it that initiatives are put in place to ease the investment in solar for every citizen.
