THREE non-governmental organisations (NGOs) have been given grants worth US$1.6 million by the Japanese government to facilitate implementation of projects aimed at improving health service delivery in Lusaka district and Central Province.
The funds will also be used to enhance education in Meheba Refugee Settlement in NorthWestern Province.
A grant of US$553,000 has been given to Japan AntiTuberculosis Association to strengthen case finding and management at Matero and Chilenje level-one hospitals and George and Bauleni clinics.
Rocinantes Zambia received a grant of US$510,000 to contribute to improving access to medical imaging diagnostics in Chisamba and Chibombo districts.
Association of Aid and Relief (AAR) Japan has been given US$531,000 to support implementation of the project to promote basic education in Meheba Refugee Settlement.
