‘Make CDF visible’

GOVERNMENT has challenged public relations and communication staff, especially in local authorities, to enhance visibility of Constituency Development Fund (CDF) projects and empowerment programmes to improve accountability and citizens’ engagement.
Minister of Information and Media Cornelius Mweetwa says effective communication serves as the lifeblood of any organisation, adding that it is indispensable for fostering transparency, accountability and citizen engagement.
Addressing the Zambia Institute of Public Relations and Communication (ZIPRC) 14th annual conference, he said the New Dawn administration has brought resources closer to people through the rolling out of various empowerment programmes like CDF.
The theme for the conference is: “Innovate and elevate: Shaping the future of public relations in Zambia.”
“These initiatives are vital in ensuring that all citizens, regardless of their location, actively participate in the country’s development,” Mr Mweetwa said.
