CHIEF Government Spokesperson Cornelius Mweetwa says Government has not reneged on law reforms, including the Public Order Act.
Mr Mweetwa, who is minister of Information and Media, also reiterated that Government has no intention to regulate social media platforms because this is already being done under the Cyber Security and Cyber Crimes Act of 2021.
Speaking when he appeared on Prime TV’s Oxygen of Democracy programme on Monday night, the minister said President Hakainde
Hichilema understands clearly that government policy must be anchored on the law.
“When you are in Government, you don’t make empty commitments,” he said. “I would like to indicate that President Hakainde Hichilema is walking the talk. There are a number of promises which he made, particularly to do with law reforms.
