ERB approves electricity tariff hike

THE Energy Regulation Board (ERB) has approved Zesco Limited’s multi-year electricity tariff for retail consumers for this year.
According to the new tariffs schedule, pre-residential customer category preapproved tariffs consumption of up 100kWh will be 0.44 from 0.40; consumption of above 100 to 300kWh will be 1.05 kWh from 0.96; consumption of more than 300kWh to less than 500kWh will move from 1.54 to 1.69 kWh; and consumption of above 500 will be 2.44kWk from 2.22kWh.
Under commercial tariffs, consumption of up 100kWh will be 0.78 from 0.67; consumption of above 100 to 300kWh will be 1.35 kWh from 1.35; consumption of more than 300kWh to less than 500kWh will move from 1.99 to 2.19 kWh; and consumption of above 500 will be 2.28kWk from 2.26kWh.
Under social tariffs, consumption of up 100kWh will be 0.69 from 0.62; consumption of above 100 to 300kWh will be 1.04 kWh from 0.94; consumption of more than 300kWh to less than 500kWh will move from 1.00 to 1.11 kWh; and consumption of above 500 will be 1.25kWk from 1.13kWh..https://enews.daily-mail.co.zm/welcome/home
