Exercise aimed at recruiting 300,000 members in province

THE United Party for National Development (UPND) has launched a coordinated team which has been tasked to recruit 300, 000 new party members on the Copperbelt to help in mobilisation activities ahead of the 2026 general elections.
The campaign team dubbed “2246” has been established to help garner more support for the governing party.
UPND Copperbelt chairperson Elisha Matambo said the constituted team is expected to recruit more party members to ensure the ruling party wins the general elections with a landslide.
Mr Matambo said the UPND is in need of more membership to ensure it scoops the presidential elections, including the parliamentary and local government elections.
“We are tasking this new team to be on the ground to recruit an additional 300, 000 new members as we head towards victory,” he said.
Mr Matambo, who is Copperbelt Minister, said this during the launch of the campaign team in Kitwe last weekend.
