VICE-PRESIDENT Mutale Nalumango says the United Party for National Development (UPND) administration will endeavour to usher in an era of politics that will strengthen peace and unity rather than weaken it.
Mrs Nalumango has also called on Zambians to embrace each other regardless of which regions they come from or which political party they belong to.
Speaking when she officiated at the Lusaka Carnival commemoration, Mrs Nalumango also urged artists to emulate the spirit of the founding father, Kenneth Kaunda, by coming up with creatives that unite the country.
“This carnival is strategic in many ways. It brings all cultures from all the 10 provinces together and reminds us that we need to unite regardless of our political affiliations, region, and ethnicity. As we celebrate 60 years of Independence, let us focus on what unites us other than what divides us,” she said.
