‘Measure UPND performance against party manifesto’

PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema’s Special Assistant for Policy Compliance Joseph Lungu says the performance of the UPND in Government should be measured against the party manifesto and not any other basis.
Mr Lungu told journalists in an interview on Tuesday night that as far as he is concerned, the New Dawn administration has so far performed well, with President Hichilema deserving a distinction.
He believes that the policies of the new regime are taking Zambia in the right direction.
“This is what we said in our manifesto. If you look at our manifesto, I challenge our people…. The party manifesto and mid-term review are there; do your comparisons.
“This is what we said we will do. And this is what we have done in three years.
Please, tell us where you are saying our policies are failing,” Mr Lungu said.
He explained that his office has done an assessment of what UPND, while in opposition, promised to do for Zambians.
“We have produced what we call midterm review. As far as we are concerned, we have done 80, 85 percent of what we promised,” Mr Lungu said…https://enews.daily-mail.co.zm/welcome/home
