ZAMBIA Athletics (ZA) executive has maintained that the elective annual general meeting will be held on March 22, 2025 and has warned of disciplinary action against five area boards that signed the petition demanding that polls be held next month.
Recently, five area boards from Copperbelt, Western, Eastern, North-Western and Central provinces signed a petition calling for elections to be held on December 19.
ZA president Elias Mpondela said at a press briefing in Lusaka yesterday that the executive held a meeting on Saturday night and unanimously agreed to have elections in the first quarter of next year.
Mpondela said according to the ZA constitution, elections can be held in the first or the last quarter of the year and ZA is within the law to hold the elective AGM on March 22.
