Govt hails EU support to aviation industry

GOVERNMENT says support from the European Union (EU) has enabled the country’s aviation industry to comply with essential international standards, positioning itself as a preferred hub for global and regional connectivity.
This follows the successful completion of the Aviation Sector Support Programme II (ASSP II) by the Ministry of Transport and Logistics and the EU.
This joint initiative represents a significant milestone in enhancing Zambia’s aviation sector, and supporting its development into a resilient, competitive and regionally integrated hub for trade, tourism and economic growth.
The programme was funded by the EU and implemented by the Ministry of Transport and Logistics, aimed to strengthen regulatory frameworks, enhance safety and security, and upgrade critical aviation infrastructure across Zambia.
