Voluntary national service coming

PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has announced that Government is in the process of introducing a voluntary national service programme for school-leavers as part of efforts to ensure the young people have skills that will make them productive.
The President believes reintroducing national service training for youths is a good way of nurturing disciplined citizenry.
President Hichilema said stopping national service training, which was under Zambia National Service (ZNS), was a great mistake as it has contributed to current issues such as teenage pregnancies, child marriages, crime and street children, among others.
