Nkombo gives update on Cash for Work

GOVERNMENT has engaged banks and mobile service providers to provide cash-in-transit (CIT) services to all beneficiaries of the Cash for Work (CfW) programme in areas with poor mobile network where there are difficulties to transact via phones.

In a ministerial statement to Parliament yesterday on the current status of the CfW programme and its implementation, Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Gary Nkombo said this will ensure that all beneficiaries get paid their dues.

Last week, Speaker of the National Assembly Nelly Mutti directed the minister to provide information on the current state of the programme and challenges being faced by beneficiaries.
