Govt keen on AI

VICE-PRESIDENT Mutale Nalumango says Zambia will continue investing in information and communications technology (ICT) because Government has recognised the transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in driving socio-economic development and improving service delivery.

Speaking on behalf of the Global South at the 2024 World Internet Conference in China yesterday, Mrs Nalumango said the conference demonstrates the global community’s shared commitment to creating a digital future that is inclusive, innovative and sustainable.

“For Zambia, it is an opportunity to learn, exchange ideas and build partnerships that harness digital technologies for the well-being of our citizens,” she said.

“We are, therefore, committed to ensuring digital technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, uplift lives, foster economic growth and drive sustainable development for all.
