BATA Zambia has commissioned a state-of-the art gumboot manufacturing machine worth over US$600,000, a move set to significantly boost the company’s production capacity of safety footwear to over 1.1 million pairs annually.

The investment reflects Bata’s commitment to meeting the growing demand for high-quality safety shoes, particularly in Zambia’s mining and construction industries.

The newly-installed machine is expected to enhance efficiency, reduce production lead times, and support local industries reliant on protective footwear.

Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Zambia Association of Manufacturers (ZAM) chief executive officer Muntanga Lindunda praised Bata’s investment, describing it as a pivotal moment for Zambia’s manufacturing sector.
