INSPECTOR General of Police Graphel Musamba assured yesterday that the extradition process of fugitive Petauke Central Member of Parliament Emmanuel Jay Banda from Harare to Zambia is being finalised.
Mr Musamba yesterday issued a statement giving a timeline of events from November 6 to 20, when Minister of Home Affairs and Internal Security Jack Mwiimbu gave an update to the nation.
“On November 6, 2024 at approximately 15:03 hours, our Interpol NCB Lusaka office received communication from Interpol NCB Harare, Zimbabwe, seeking confirmation of information regarding Mr Banda’s status as a wanted person,” he said.
“Interpol NCB Harare also requested a provisional warrant of arrest should the information prove accurate.”
Mr Musamba said Interpol Lusaka promptly verified and confirmed that Mr Banda was indeed wanted in Zambia.
