FAZ boss amazed by online nominations debate

Modern football has embraced technology, Chikumbi takes physical filing route

FOOTBALL Association of Zambia (FAZ) president Andrew Kamanga is taken aback by the resistance the online nominations for next month’s elections have received while presidential candidate Godfrey Chikumbi yesterday filed in his papers at Football House registry.
Luapula Province side Mansa Wanderers vicepresident Chikumbi pledged to revolutionise Zambian football if voted into office on March 29.
Initially, the electoral committee had indicated that they will only accept online filing of nominations but the announcement was criticised by some stakeholders.
Later, the committee announced that it would allow both online and physical filing of nominations.
Writing in yesterday’s President’s Corner column, Kamanga said modern football has embraced technology as one of the tools to improve management of the game.
