GOVERNMENT has commissioned the about K7 million Luombwa acrow bridge which will service over 2,000 people in Serenje’s Nansanga farm block.
Minister of Infrastructure and Urban Development Charles Milupi says Government has started working on transport infrastructure-related facilities to provide safe, smooth travel experience and time.
Mr Milupi said during commissioning of the bridge on Saturday that the ministry, through the Road Development Agency (RDA), has embarked on a programme to build 131 acrow bridges in seven provinces.
“The completion of Luombwa acrow bridge constructed at a cost of K6,895,044.11 will help over 2,000 people to access social amenities such as schools, clinics and markets,” the minister said.
Mr Milupi said the bridge is critical for nearby communities who are into mining of manganese, transportation of farming inputs and produce to markets.
