SAMUEL Sinyinza on Saturday night ascended to the Zambia Volleyball Association (ZAVA) top job after defeating incumbent Nakaonga Kakoma during the elective annual general meeting at the University of Zambia.
And former national team coach Felix Chilufya was elected Zambia Squash Association (ZSA) president after beating incumbent Peter Simukonda during Saturday’s elections in Kabwe.
Sinyinza served as vicepresident for administration under Kakoma, who was at the helm for eight years.Sinyinza polled 114 votes against Kakoma’s 66.Sinyinza said he will use his connections to change the face of volleyball.
“Volleyball has won and what volleyball has been lacking is financial pull through. I am coming with that impact because I am coming from the private sector, where I have a lot of connections.
“I will sit down with my colleagues who have won to see how best we can support the sport and definitely we are going to make volleyball a winner,” he said in an interview.
