Rural Electrification Authority (REA) says it will develop 10 mini-grid power stations countrywide in its effort to increase the rural electrification rate.
REA chief executive officer Linus Chanda said in an interview that in line with the intention by Government to accelerate electrification in the country, the agency is engaging different partners who would help develop the 10 mini-grid stations.
“We are also looking at introducing cooperatives as a way of electrifying rural areas. We will select areas where we will introduce cooperatives. These networks will be owned by the cooperatives, they will have their own management to operate and we will just oversee the management of the infrastructure so that it does not go to waste,” Mr Chanda said..https://enews.daily-mail.co.zm/welcome/home
