PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema says Government is determined to make agriculture the leading industry in the country through formulation of favourable policiesAnd the President has disclosed that Mozambique, Malawi and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) will soon make a formal import request to Zambia for supply of maize aimed at discouraging illegal (smuggling) export of the commodity into the respective countries.
Officially launching the 2023/2024 national planting season at Jeremiah Nyendwa’s farm in Nyimba yesterday, President Hichilema said Government is doing its work to ensure meaningful returns from farming.
The President also said people must change their approach towards the sector..
