TO CURTAIL escalating cases of cholera, some local authorities have instituted measures like daily inspection of public sanitary facilities and banning selling of food in streets.
Kitwe Mayor Mpasa Mwaya says an internal taskforce has been formed to, among others, intensify daily cleaning of markets and bus stations in the city to avert the further spread of the water-borne disease.
Ms Mwaya said the council taskforce will “feed” into the main taskforce at district level.
She said the taskforce will oversee intensified collection of solid waste, identify open sewer points and promptly report to service providers like Nkana Water and Sanitation Company (NWSC)..https://enews.daily-mail.co.zm/welcome/home
