TANZANIAN giants Simba have pardoned Chipolopolo midfielder Clatous Chota Chama two months after suspending him for alleged misconduct.
Chama was suspended in December and was due to appear before the club disciplinary committee to exculpate himself. He left to join the national team immediately he was slapped with the suspension.
Chama was part of the team that represented Zambia at the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, featuring twice as a substitute in a 1-all draw against Tanzania and the 1-0 loss to Morocco. Chama is now back in Tanzania for club duties.
According to a notice released by Simba chief executive officer Imani Kajula, Chama has been forgiven by coach Abdelhak Benchica after he exculpated himself.
“The management of Simba Club would like to inform the members and fans of Simba that they have pardoned player Clatous Chama.
“This action has followed the decision of the technical committee of the Lions [Simba] board which reviewed the letter of explanation of the player and also the decision of the coach Benchica to forgive the player, so the technical committee of the Lions board agreed to forgive him and stop bringing him to the ethics committee of the Lions club,” read the notice dated February 2.
Chama has since joined Simba, who are currently in Kigoma region for the NBC major league game.
