MINISTER of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Mulambo Haimbe will represent President Hakainde Hichilema at the 27th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) scheduled for October 21 to 26th, 2024 in Apia, Samoa.
CHOGM 2024 will provide a platform for Heads of Government, business leaders and other stakeholders to address critical issues, including climate change, democracy, human rights, rule of law, economic recovery and empowerment for sustainable livelihoods.
The CHOGM 2024 theme is: ‘One Resilient Common Future: Transforming our Common Wealth’. The biennially held meeting will set policies and priorities for the Commonwealth on shared global goals.
The key outcomes of the summit will include the adoption of a communiqué and statements from various Commonwealth forums. A significant agenda item will be the election of the next Secretary-General of the Commonwealth.
