ZAMBIA China Dejinxin Cement Company Limited has signed an Investment Protection and Promotion Agreement (IPPA) with Zambia Development Agency (ZDA).

Company director-general Jianbao Zhao says signing the IPPA has given the company confidence to invest US$170 million for the construction of a cement plant, power plant, and mine, among other industrial facilities.

He said that during the period of construction, the company will provide over 1,000 jobs to Zambians.

“After the project is put into operation, the company can provide long-term employment opportunities for more than 500 Zambian nationals which can greatly promote the economic development of Zambia and effectively improve the living conditions of local people,” he added.
