A FIRST ever national centre for people living with autism and other special needs, named after First Lady Mutinta Hichilema, has been opened in Kabwe.
The Mutinta Hichilema Autism and Special Needs Centre is located in Katondo, about six kilometres from Kabwe central business district.
Mrs Hichilema yesterday handed over the centre, whose construction started in September 2022, to the Ministry of Education to manage the facility.
“This centre represents the commitment of so many people and organisations who envision a world where every child is supported and provided with the opportunity to reach their full potential,” she said.
