Speaker says democracy doesn’t entail lawlessness

SPEAKER of National Assembly Nelly Mutti says freedom of speech and protection of democracy do not extend to lawlessness, misguided militancy and effrontery.
She said this in Parliament yesterday when she read a ruling in which 14 Patriotic Front (PF) Members of Parliament and three independent law-makers were suspended for 30 days for misconducting themselves in the House last Wednesday.
And two other PF MPs, Lunte’s Mutotwe Kafwaya and Kalalwe Mukosa, of Chinsali Central, were yesterday given a seven-day suspension from
